Saw U2 in concert last night.... (a little scary)
Well this was my first U2 concert that I've had the opportunity to see and was it worth the $8 bucks that I paid! I tell you, the boys can put on a show.... it's was so good that it felt like a spiritual experience. Thus, the problem. Ok... I didn't see them live, I saw them on the 3D screen at the theater (which was totally awesome). They did all the cool songs that they normally do but about half way through the show Bono breaks out the "Coexist" headband. The headband on the surface didn't seem to be too big a deal until you hear the chanting of "Jesus, Jew, Mohammed—all true. Jesus, Jew, Mohammed—all true." Check out the photo of the headband...The crescent moon is the Islamic symbol, The Star of David is the Jewish symbol, and the Cross is symbolic for Christian. Basically he saying that Abraham, Jesus, and Mohammed are all the same. He's touting univeralism and pluralism; basically that all paths lead to God. Normally you could chalk this up to an artistic expression but, the
underlying issue here is that Bono professed to be a christian and now has obviously waivered in that belief. It's scary the number of people that he can influence with his platform. There had to be 100,000 people in the stadium in Argentina where the concert was filmed and all where chanting "Jesus, Jew, Mohammed—all true. Jesus, Jew, Mohammed—all true."
To me this is very typicial of what the emergent church is doing right now and leading multitudes down the wrong path. Bono provided a very cool 3D concert and talked alot about civil rights and each of us
making a difference. But wrapped the entire thing in an idea that all paths lead to heaven. It's no wonder that people are easily swayed. Folks like Bono or Oprah come off as loving and caring but in the end they serve little "g" gods..... themselves.
I often think that the anti-christ will make a splash in "endtimes" much like Ophrah or Bono. Both led us to believe that they believed in God, that they were Christians only to see they thow away their theology as they have become more successful and powerful. Each touts civil rights, beating poverty, curing AIDS, but then wraps in in "Jesus, Jew, Mohammed—all true. Jesus, Jew, Mohammed—all true." or in Oprahs case..."The Secret".. because in case we didn't all realize Oprah believes that were all gods (we can do all things with the power that comes from us... not Gods power in us)
Anyway.... it was a very entertaining concert but one filled with an agenda.
